Habibulla has worked as a care assistant at SNE Care for 2 and a half years and wouldn’t change his job!
What did you do previously and why the career change?
“I actually worked in fashion design, but I wanted to help people and care for people.”
What do you love about your job?
“I feel fantastic about my role, I get to meet so many people in a day. There are a lot of people who are alone and I love being able to chat to them and make their day better.”
What would you say to others looking to join the industry?
“You’ll really enjoy the role! You get to meet a lot of new people and make them smile. I’d encourage everyone to join, as it makes my heart feel pure. There are a lot of vulnerable people who need support and care, so I’d encourage everyone to join. ”
What are the tough sides to the job?
“Sometimes it can be tough when clients have conditions like dementia, but once you spend time with the person and get to know what they like and dislike, it’s really rewarding to improve their day. It can also be difficult to see clients unwell.”
Is there career progression within the sector?
“Yes! I have recently completed my NVQ, level 3, with the support of SNE Care. We get lots of training and are always encouraged to learn. I’d like to complete my level 5 next.”
What do you enjoy most about working for SNE Care?
“It’s a noble profession and we feel like a family!”
